Dancing|Meditation| Yoga| what do they have in common?

What is common in Dancing, meditation, and Yoga? Shakti Aerial Yoga, for all communicative purposes is a yoga studio, but what does a yoga studio have to do with dancing ? The science of yoga came to the world from Adiyogi who is also known as “Natraj” (the lord of dance), a cosmic dancer. Dancing and meditation are very alike, a state of meditativeness in essence is reached when you are present fully in the moment with yourself and the universe, when everything else falls away and you are in unison with the present, dancing and painting can bring you into moments of complete ecstasy, present in the moment, where you touch your inner bliss, a joy that rises deep within and bubbles up through your body.

At Shakti it is our mission to create a sacred space, “a place to be fully present with your mind, body and soul through aerial yoga, meditation, and movement practices.  Shakti sacred space is designed to awaken and ignite your innermost power, your Shakti.” As we work towards our mission, bringing dance modalities and of course fun paint night at your sacred space are inline with our vision.

Dancing like yoga is wonderful for bone health. “As a form of weight-bearing activity, unlike a stationary bike or swimming, dancing can help to maintain bone density,” says Gardner. Per the National Osteoporosis Foundation, high-impact and weight-bearing exercises, including some forms of dance, help you effectively maintain and even build new bone mass.

Belly dancing is an excellent way to release it. Most of the time the trauma is held unknowingly and through belly dance it is released in a very fun loving manner, for some it has been very cathartic experience as well.
